Last Monday night, my flatmate Cece and I embarked for a week-long journey across Europe. We spent the night in the airport on Monday night, as our flight to Prague was leaving at 6 a.m. That was quite an interesting experience!
We landed in Prague in the morning on Tuesday, checked into our hotel, and hit the ground running! We only had 1 full day in Prague so we wanted to make sure we saw as much as we could in those 24 hours. We had plenty of time to see the Astronomical Clock, the Prague Castle, and the Charles Bridge.
We also enjoyed checking out the little side streets of Prague, one of which near our hotel and the Astronomical Clock had a sweet little market full of food shops. Our hotel was in an amazing location, just right down the road from the Astronomical Clock and we were happy to be able to walk everywhere except up the hill to the Castle.
We enjoyed traditional Czech food, like goulash soup and lots of meat dishes.
My favorite part of Prague had to have been visiting the Prague Castle. I was surprised to see that it wasn't what I was expecting when I think of the word castle. Rather than being a medieval type building, it was a series of buildings centered around an ancient square. The view from the top of the castle was amazing, as was the Cathedral at the Castle square.
I loved visiting Prague, as it was always somewhere that I wanted to see. Although the city was beautiful, I was a bit disappointed that there was not much to do there. Luckily our day was full considering we had limited time to see the sites, but I found that a day was plenty to get to experience the city.
